Wheat Field Fire - Daisey Rd.
Thursday, June 27, 2013On 6-27-2013 Sta.79 Gumboro Fire Department was alerted for a field fire Daisy Rd east of town. Command 79 arrived on location to find a combine in a wheat field on fire along with most of the field a blaze. Command requested an engine and tanker assist from Sta.88 Selbyville, Sta.76 Frankford and Sta.73 Dagsboro to the scene. Crews worked for nearly an hour to stop the flames from getting into a nearby corn field and a home across the road. The Delaware State Forestry made a response and surveyed the scene.
