Reported Structure Fire

Monday, October 26, 2015

1715 hours, almost immediately after returning to quarters from the earlier call, stations 74, 79, and 81, along with medic 102, were dispatched to a reported structure fire on Russell RD. Engine 79-1 went responding once again with a crew of six, this time under the command of 79-18 Joe Moore. Engine 79-1, which was the first fire apparatus on scene, arrived to find nothing evident from the exterior of the home. An initial investigation began, and found numerous unvented propane heaters in the home, as well as a strong smell of propane that had built up. The home owner was then removed and the ventilation process began. The gas company was notified, and 74 command released all units at 1754 hours.

Responding 79 units includes: Engine 79-1, Tanker 79-3, Tanker 79-5, TC 79-14.
